Stop Procrastinating!

Updated: Feb 10, 2021

Hey! I welcome you to another cup of mine and this time I want to share with you how I stopped procrastinating (though not completely) and how you can stop it too :)

  • The 5-Second Rule:

Since laziness leads to more laziness and activity leads to more activity and as everyone always says the start is the hardest. Well, I still found a solution for that one that has been working with me really good!

Every time you find yourself procrastinating or just not starting right away, COUNT!

Count from 5 to 1 and then you MUST do it!

"5,4,3,2,1 NOW!"
  • Don't wait for the perfect moment:

Sometimes we just make excuses for ourselves because we don't want to start, you say that you are "waiting for the perfect moment" but there isn't such a thing! Life isn't perfect and it will never be and this is what makes life LIFE.

If there is something you have to do or you want to do, DO IT. DON'T WAIT!

This is mostly for people who tend to be perfectionists. We (since I'm one of them) keep pushing the work on our future selves afraid of not being able to succeed in it as we usually do. And here comes the trick, when we start because of the deadline, everything works well although the lack of the "perfect circumstances" that we wish for!

  • "Stop the scroll"

Recently I've read the following post on a blog and I really think it helps, so let's just count it as a procrastinators tip for the phone addicted ones. (We finally belong to the same team).

You only have to put your phone and some other objects above it building a tower that makes you stop turning to your phone automatically without actually needing something.

Don't we all scroll for no reason most of the time?

  • The Ground Rules

This one is a tip for your life not just for procrastinating, it's actually the best thing ever! (for me at least). You only must have some discipline to be able to do it.

  1. Write down some rules for yourself (things that are off limits); So for me I wrote that I won't use Instagram or watch any influencers on YouTube to erase some media toxicity from my life.

  2. These rules are unbreakable!

  3. If you do break them you take one of the red marbles out (like that you somehow punish yourself).

Until today I haven't used Instagram for almost 21 days and now I'm not willing to back there as long as it's not urgent, because I'm not wanting to break the streak!

So it somehow influences each other as I said, "laziness leads to more laziness and activity leads to more activity" and being offline might lead to staying offline!

And I'm very sorry to tell you that, but :

So go study/work NOW!

Thank you so much for viewing my cup of the day and I really do hope that you enjoyed it and that you continue with me through my journey! Stay tuned <3

Have an awesome day!
